This policy explains what information Long Island Life collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what we do and do not do with it.
The short version
We collect the information you give us so that we can help you with life insurance. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to a lead buyer. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a quote request or email us, you provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, age, general health description, tobacco use, and whatever else you choose to include. We collect it because we cannot quote life insurance without it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit. This is used for security and to understand which pages are useful. The coverage calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter into it is transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
How we use it
- To respond to your question or prepare quotes for you.
- To submit an insurance application on your behalf, but only if you ask us to.
- To follow up about coverage you have expressed interest in.
- To meet legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations that apply to licensed agents.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it with lead buyers, lead aggregators, or marketing networks.
- We do not use it for purposes unrelated to helping you with insurance.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it is necessary to do the work you have asked for. That can include insurance companies when you ask us to seek a quote or submit an application, the service providers that run our email and website hosting, and government or regulatory bodies where the law requires it. Insurance companies handle your information under their own privacy policies and applicable insurance law.
Communications
By submitting a request you are asking us to contact you about life insurance, which may include email, phone, or text message at the contact details you provide. You can opt out of any of these at any time by telling us, or by replying STOP to a text message. Message and data rates may apply.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies necessary for it to function and, where enabled, basic privacy conscious analytics to count page views. We do not run advertising trackers or cross-site profiling.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email christopher@loneislandlife.com and we will respond promptly. Some records must be retained for a period of time under insurance regulations, and where that applies we will tell you.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Applications involving coverage on a child are always made by a parent or guardian.
Security
Information submitted through this site is transmitted over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. We limit what we collect, we limit who can see it, and we do not keep what we do not need.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
