About
Insurance has a reputation problem. It earned most of it.
Pressure tactics, products recommended because of what they pay, and agents who are unreachable the week after the policy is issued. Long Island Life exists to be the opposite of all three.

What we are
An independent agency, working one household at a time
Long Island Life is an independent life insurance agency serving Nassau County, Suffolk County, and the rest of Long Island. Independent means we are not employed by a single insurance company and are not required to lead with their products. Your application goes to whichever carrier underwrites your particular situation most favorably, which for a healthy thirty five year old is a small advantage and for someone with a health history is the entire ballgame.
The work itself is unglamorous. Understand what a household would actually need, find out which companies will treat that household fairly, explain the trade offs in language a person can use, and then stay reachable. Most of what goes wrong in this business goes wrong because one of those four steps got skipped.
There is no call center here, no rotating queue, and no lead list. You talk to Christopher, and you keep talking to Christopher.

How we work
Four commitments, in writing
Easy to say and easy to check. Hold us to them.
- 01
Explain it, then let them decide
Nobody keeps a policy they were talked into. Every product on this site has a page listing what it does badly alongside what it does well, because that is the conversation we would want if we were on the other side of it.
- 02
Independence is the whole job
Carriers underwrite the same person very differently. Being able to place a file with the company that treats it best is not a marketing line, it is the difference between a standard rate and a decline.
- 03
Cover the need before the product
A large term policy that actually covers the mortgage beats a small permanent policy that does not. If the right amount is only affordable as term, buy term. You can convert later.
- 04
Answer the phone in year five
Beneficiaries change, mortgages get refinanced, permanent policies need annual review, and claims eventually happen. An agent who disappears after the sale has done half a job.

The person behind it
You will not be handed off to anyone.
Christopher handles every case personally, from the first question through the application and every review after it. That is a deliberate limit on how many households we work with at once, and it is the reason the answers you get are specific to you rather than pulled from a script.
